Straight Tooth Gears is an intriguing alternative to a traditional gearbox layout that is often only employed in motorsport applications. Most of us will never encounter this type of transmission arrangement, which is notorious for its scream and inherent unusability.

What are they?
The name says it all; the actual Straight Tooth gear doesn't form a spiral shape like regular gears in nearly every other road vehicle on the planet; instead, they point straight out from the gear's center point. The gear's tooth protrude outwardly rather than curving neatly in a spiral pattern around its central axis; they resemble a motorbike sprocket.

Custom Gear Design
Customized gears Design doesn't have set parameters. Although there are standards for teeth moulds, such as those for teeth pitch and involute shapes that are represented by modules, taken as a whole, gear teeth have many variations in addition to the number of teeth and material, such as the bore through which the shaft passes, the keyway, the face width, the helix angle, the tooth hardness, and whether or not they are polished. Additionally, the specifications for various machines vary depending on the type of machine. For the convenience of machine design work and quick response when machines break, it would be ideal if all gear teeth were standardized and stocked.

As used above, the term custom gear design " refers to gears produced per different gear requirements shown on drawings that the manufacturer has provided to the user. Manufacturers who comprehend the required gear specifications determine whether manufacturing is feasible by comparing their production capacity, including lathes, hobbing machines, machining centers, broaching machines, and grinding machines, with the required gear specifications. When they determine that manufacturing is feasible, they either move forward with manufacturing the required gears by the specifications noted in the drawings or propose partial changes to the specifications.
